The Episcopal Migration Caucus is a para-church group of Episcopalians leading the movement for Migration with Dignity in the Episcopal Church and in our communities. We advocate for bold witness and policies in the Episcopal Church, and we support dioceses, parishes, and individuals in faithful responses to the migration-related crises in the U.S. and across the world.
Our blog, "Another Way," features reflections, a weekly lectionary, statements, sermons, press coverage, and videos that promote another way of approaching immigration in the United States based on Migration With Dignity principles.
This site also includes pages with links to many resources for advocacy, worship, formation, and study.
The caucus meets monthly via Zoom and welcomes all Episcopalians to join. Inquire via email at episcopalmigrationcaucus@gmail.com.
Why “Another Way”?
Welcome to Another Way, the newsletter of the Episcopal Migration Caucus! Why “Another Way”? We read in Matthew 2:12 that the Magi, after visiting Jesus, “departed into their own country by another way.” Another Way connects us to those people who, like the Magi fleeing from Herod, are forced to migrate for reasons of safety or any other cause of displacement. Another Way connects us to Epiphany season—the season of the Magi’s visitation—and its promise of revelation of Christ to all people everywhere in the world, wherever they come from and wherever they are going.
Another Way also reminds us that we can choose whether to follow the way of the world, which tells us that safety comes from borders and enforcement to keep foreigners out, or another way of welcome, care, and dignity. We choose Another Way.
